Texas Instruments (TI) introduces new Integrated Power Solutions for DC/DC conversion. These products - the TPS8267xstep-down regulator and TPS84620 highly integrated point-of-load solution - feature an integrated inductor and passive components aimed at speeding development time and simplifying power design.
The TPS84620 is a highly integrated point-of-load solution with high density and efficiency and 30% better thermal dissipation compared to competitor solutions. The QFN package combines the inductor and passives onto one device and requires only three external components, making design layout extremely simple. Target applications include broadband and communications infrastructure, along with automated test and medical equipment.
The TPS8267x step-down regulator combines all external components on TI's new MicroSiP™ package - easing design for portable electronics. Plus a unique PWM frequency dithering feature reduces noise and improves performance. The TPS8267x is ideal for use in low-power performance applications, such as cell phones, smart phones, portable audio/video, digital TV, WLAN, GPS, Bluetooth® and portable medical devices.
